I’ve enjoyed tinkering with firearms for as long as I can remember, and my roots are in law enforcement. My grandfather, Harley Bates, was a local sheriff and Marshal, and I have been active in law enforcement for over thirty years. While not formally trained as a gunsmith, I’ve discovered a “knack” for turning old, beat up rifles into treasured heirlooms.
So far, I’ve rescued several vintage rifles just for the satisfaction of a job well done. This has led to inquiries and some paying work, mostly from insurance companies. It’s possible I may be able to “rescue” your old rifle, as well.
I enjoy working on the old Marlin rifles, but will tackle any brand. If you have a rifle that needs to be “rescued”, feel free to contact me and begin a dialogue. My fees are reasonable, and I’m a man of my word. If you entrust me with a family heirloom firearm, I’ll treat it as if it was my own, with TLC. And you can rest easy knowing I’ll do everything in my power to make sure the job is done to the best of my ability.
